Was getting to the very end of our groceries and feeling a little anxious about food scarcity (a central fear for me… must have been a poor person in a past life). $200 later at TJs and Whole Foods, and the fridge is happily brimming with new groceries.
Pretty much the same deal as last time, with a few additions:
- Salmon fillet
- Beef steak
- Bitchin’ sauce (almond-based dip)
Thinking about making a Costco run next time and seeing what’s out there. My main concern is the food going to waste, but since I’ve been home all day most days and my girlfriend has been living with me, I think we’ll be OK.
Most days, this ends up happening. I started off eating some tigernuts to tide myself over, and then ended up heating up leftovers and adding in some kale. Super easy and tasty.
Had a work dinner at the house and ordered in poke bowls for everyone. I was happily surprised to learn that yuzu is OK (I thought it might be a pepper, since it’s spicy, but it’s actually a citrus fruit!). I think there are 2 sauces that are compliant — the togarashi sauce (which is like a mayo), and the yuzu (the citrus fruit sauce). Yuzu sauce is super light, fresh tasting, and summery. I wonder if there’s more I can do with yuzu beyond the poke… Got the same keto bowl sitch with salmon, togarashi sauce, jicama, cucumbers, mac nuts, and cauli rice.
How’d I Do?
Feelin pumped for the week. Eating game was on point, even with ordering food in. Sweetfin is prob my favorite eating out spot because it feels so fresh. I know technically I’m not supposed to have animal protein at night, but I’m definitely just letting that one go…
