OK! So, in preparation for the cleanse, I did a little grocery shopping.
As you may be able to see, I bought a few things that I realized later are definitely not candida approved… like the gf chicken nuggets (oh man, so good), the salad dressing (contains olive oil and worse yet, SUGAR), tofu, tempeh, and olives. Other than that though, I think I did OK. I also did buy a couple frozen meals that I bought for post-cleanse eating (though in retrospect, it seems silly that I bought food for 90 days in the future). But oh well!
Approved items I bought:
- Bok choy
- Salad mix
- Brussels sprouts (frozen and fresh)
- Carrots (shredded + baby)
- Chia seeds
- Hemp seeds
- Almonds (sliced, whole, raw almond butter)
- Everything but the bagel seasoning
- Ground buffalo burgers
- No sugar bacon
- Frozen cod
I also went a little crazy and had a last hoorah pre-cleanse…I went to Tacos 1986 (arguably the best tacos in LA) and had 4 adobada (pork) tacos and 2 mushroom tacos.
It’s COVID time so ate them in the car… very difficult to not get oil all over my hands (I was not successful in this pursuit).
